vintage days

Last month, the girls and I went to Vintage Days at Fresno State, while Daddy was busy at work. We had a lot of fun on that very hot Friday morning, but also decided that next year we want Daddy to join us!

a little of this and that

It's been awhile since my last post and we have been busy doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that...
taking a bath in the middle of a rainy day
many trips to Target and a whole lot of popcorn
night time drives in our truck, through huge puddles left by the rain...
...with a frosty for dessert
cozy movie nights
swinging at the park

trips to the zoo with cousins...
...and with Audrey's preschool class
Madison flying a kite for the first time
Audrey's a pro
Big news for both girls!!!
As of two months ago, Madison is potty trained and Audrey no longer sucks on her finger at night(notice the yellow band-aid, our helper).
Woo-hoo!! So proud of our big girls!

snow day

Just when we thought we had missed the opportunity to have a snow day this year, there was a late storm that brought plenty of snow for us to play in. Snow day in mid-April? Sure!!

Madison didn't sled much. She was perfectly content with sitting in one spot and eating handfuls of snow.

Audrey was fearless!! All by herself, she carried the sled to the very top of the hill, then rode the sled down the hill while laying on her tummy. When she got to the bottom, she stood up, grabbed the sled, and started up the hill again so that she could ride it down...over and over and over again.

easter

We had another busy Easter this year, but it was so much fun watching our girls enjoy the holiday. On Easter morning, Audrey and Madison both woke up bright and early, anxious to see what the Easter Bunny had left them and if he had hidden all their eggs.

"oh b!" (oh boy!)
Audrey found all of her eggs, then helped Sissy with hers

We really want our girls to understand the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. Up until Easter day, there were many times that we shared the story of Jesus' resurrection with the girls. Each one of these plastic eggs holds a piece of that story and were hidden Easter morning, along with the other Easter eggs. Once all of the eggs were found, Daddy shared the story of Jesus' resurrection, once again, with his girls.

After going to the 11:00am service at church, we headed out to Madera to celebrate with the Loves. The girls had so much fun playing with their cousins!

Madison loved riding around on this battery powered quad!
hunting for eggs

From the Loves, we drove back to Fresno to Nani and Papa's house, where there were more cousins waiting to play with Audrey and Madison!

warm enough for a swim?!
Nani had a scavenger hunt set up for the kids that ended with them finding their Easter baskets full of goodies. They ran from one location to the next, quickly read the clues, and could hardly wait to see what was waiting at the end.
So much fun!!

dyeing easter eggs

Just a few days before Easter, we dyed Easter eggs! The girls were each given a dozen of eggs to dye, and they probably would have loved to dye dozens more!!

Audrey got bored creative and started to "double-dunk"

family vacay

During our spring break, we took a family vacation to the Monterey area! We stayed in Carmel Valley, spent time at Carmel Beach, and ended our trip at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The weather was beautiful, and as always, we wish we could have stayed longer!!The girls loved being at the beach, even though it was super windy and cold! Madison and Mommy huddled down and dug in the sand a bit, while Audrey and Daddy were down by the water. Both girls were in their swimsuits, "just in case". Good thing, because Audrey practically went swimming in the ocean!! No joke.
