family feast

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving vacation, Audrey was asked to bring her favorite vegetable to contribute to the stone soup that they would be making in class that day. Audrey wanted to bring a cucumber, but because we didn't have a cucumber in our fridge the night before, we decided that a zucchini would be ok. While in class, Audrey cut up the zucchini all by herself and added it to the yummy stone soup. On Thursday afternoon, we were all invited to join Audrey's class for a family feast. We ate the stone soup that the children made, tasted breads from around the world, and had pumpkin cake for dessert. Audrey wasn't feeling well that day, but she did her best to make it through the family feast!

cinnamon

The day that Audrey walked into her preschool room to meet her teachers for the first time, her eyes quickly found the classroom pet bunny, Cinnamon. Immediately, I saw her body relax and Audrey's look of nervousness was replaced with a hug smile. Audrey quickly made her way to Cinnamon's cage so that she could meet her new friend. When she came home from her first day of school, she was so proud to tell me that she was the one chosen to feed Cinnamon. For the first few weeks of school, one of Audrey's favorite things about her classroom was Cinnamon. Needless to say, when it was her turn to bring Cinnamon home for the weekend, she was ecstatic!!
