happy st. patricks day

We had some silly visitors on St. Patrick's Day!! The tiny green footprints began at our front door and continued into the bathroom and the kitchen. There were also pieces of golden-wrapped candy scattered all over the floor. And, as most of you know, leprechauns can be very mischievous creatures. They made quite a mess in our home, flipping over couch cushions and chairs, turning pictures upside down, and opening most of our cabinets and drawers.
Silly, silly leprechauns!

Madison picked up the very first candy she saw, stopped to open it up, and ate it immediately! first green milk, then green toilet water? what?!!
all dressed in their green and pink(the new green) for a special birthday party
That evening, we went to Nani and Papa's house for a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner. For dessert, the girls made green, shamrock-shaped rice krispie treats. Yummy!

family trip to vallejo

Last month, the Loves took a family trip to Vallejo to see Great Grandma and Pop. It was a short weekend visit, but we enjoyed every minute that we were able to spend with these two very special people.

santa ynez

Oh, how I love the beach! Especially when I am with my husband!!
For Christmas, my parents gifted us a trip to Santa Ynez for two nights. The package included a day of wine tasting and a two hour ATV ride. Childcare included.
We immediately booked our getaway for the second weekend in February.
Happy Birthday and Happy Valentines Day to us!

We extended the trip by a day and stayed with our friends in Santa Barbara, before traveling to our final destination. While in Santa Barbara, we ate a delicious Italian meal and thoroughly enjoyed adult conversation. We ate breakfast on a patio overlooking the ocean and then took a stroll to the pier to watch the sailboats.
The day that we went wine tasting was on my actual birthday. We took a drive through Solvang, stopped in at a mission, and went to three different wineries before grabbing a late lunch. That evening we celebrated together over dinner and dessert, while listening to live music. It was a perfect day with the perfect man, although I was starting to miss my girls just a little bit. On the morning of the day we were leaving, we rode ATVs for two hours through the Santa Ynez mountains. Aaron and I both had a smile on our face the entire time. We had so much fun!!the view from the highest point on the tour
thank you, mom and dad

birthdays

The last couple of months have been busy with birthdays! Aaron's birthday(January 29th) is the day after his dad's birthday, so to celebrate, we had family over to our house for dinner and dessert. Our niece, Maci, also had a birthday at the end of December, but because of all the holiday craziness we haven't had a chance to get the family together until recently. So, that meant we had three special people to sing "Happy Birthday" to!!

these girls loved the ice cream cake! On Aaron's actual birthday, we sang "Happy Birthday" again and had another piece of the delicious ice cream cake. Aaron and I are exactly two weeks apart! The two of us were away celebrating on my birthday, so when we got home from our vacation, Aaron and the girls stuck a candle in a sugar cookie and sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Super special!
