audrey's pearly whites

Last week, Audrey went to the dentist to have her teeth cleaned! My mom has always worked in a dentist office, first as a dental assistant and now as a receptionist two days a week. So, going to the dentist is actually lots of fun for Audrey, because she gets extra special treatment and she gets to see her Nani. Audrey has always been fearless when it comes to trying new things, so it didn't surprise me that she was excited and more than ready to sit in the chair for her cleaning!

Madison was there to watch and support her big sister.

Audrey's favorite part, other than getting her stickers at the end, was sucking up water from a cup using a dental tool.

After sitting in my lap for about 5 minutes, she looked at me and said she wanted to sit in the "big chair" all by herself. Here she is...my brave little girl!!

Audrey saying, "ahhhh..." so that Miss Kay can see all her pretty teeth.

madison - 3 months

Every day Madison makes us smile and laugh as we watch her little personality begin to develop. Her rolls continue to grow and her cheeks still rest on her chest. We LOVE our chunky baby!! Madison has such a sweet spirit and is pretty quiet most of the time. She smiles and laughs a lot, and she is just starting to discover her voice. Just this month, we introduced Madison to the Baby Einstein activity mat. She enjoys looking up at "Mr. Star" and watching the different colored lights flash as the music plays. Madison holds her head up really well now and she is getting stronger on her tummy. Her newest discovery is her hands!! If they aren't in her mouth, they are reaching out to touch a toy or pull on Mommy's hair. One of our favorite times with Madison is first thing in the morning. As soon as she sees us, she gives us a big, open-mouthed smile and begins to kick her feet and flail her arms because she is so happy!! What a perfect way to start our day!!

summer fun

We have had such a fun summer with our little girl, Audrey and our baby girl, Madison!! Here are a few pictures that capture the memories that were made...

The new "water park" is just walking distance from our house. Audrey thinks there's nothing better than the combination of a playground and water. Plus, most of our trips always ended with eating one of the best snow cones ever!!
There were many times this summer that we had a "swim day" with a few of our closest friends.

And since swimming and popsicles go hand in hand, we ate a lot of popsicles with our friends too.

Audrey got to spend an evening at Wild Water Adventures with one of her "besties"...so fun!!

The simplicity of the sprinklers not only cooled Audrey off, but they kept her entertained as well.

And of course, there were MANY days that we would grab our swimsuits and head to Nani and Papa's pool for a swim.

Audrey is a little fish!! She is swimming all over the pool this summer and even "pops up" to take a breath when she needs it before continuing on.

Audrey is a great floater!

And, she loves being able to jump off of the waterfall like the big kids.

No swimming for Madison this summer, but she did put her toes in the water a couple of times.

One of my very dear friends, Becky, invited us out to her pool to swim on a weekly basis. Audrey couldn't wait to get in the water and swim in the "big pool" with her Becky. Look how happy she is!!

There was also a little pool for her to play in.

How sweet is this? THE Jan Thomas giving Audrey a gold medal for being a "champion swimmer". Such kind, generous, and loving friends Jan and Becky are!!!

Ta-da!!

beach house

For the past five summers, we have rented a beach house for a week in Rio Del Mar. This year, we had a full house!! Besides our family of four, my parents, Aaron's parents, and my sister and her family of four all stayed at the beach house for the week. We also had Aaron's brother as a guest for a couple of days. Needless to say, it was crazy at times but we had a lot of fun!!

As I have mentioned before, Audrey loves the beach! So, having it as her front yard was a dream come true. Every day we were on the beach playing in the sand or putting our toes in the water!

Daddy, Kaleb, Audrey, Abby, and Papa running from the waves.

The house that we rented has a bbq pit out on the front patio. We had bonfires every night and definitely ate a Smore or two.

Madison was too tiny to hang out at the beach, but I think she was pretty happy being held and loved on as much as she was.

Nani and Papa having fun on the beach with Audrey!
At some point during our vacation, Aaron likes to go golfing. When Daddy goes golfing, the girls head to Capitola for lunch and sometimes some shopping too.

Madison got a bath in the sink for the first time, but she was a little unsure about it.

Every time Audrey wears this swimsuit we sing the song,"She wore an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow poke-a-dot bikini..."

Did I say she loves the sand? Look at her!!

Nani and Madison...twins!

We like to spend one day in Santa Cruz to play in the sand some more and, of course, ride some rides at the Boardwalk. Audrey felt so proud that she was able to ride the rides all by herself.

Audrey and Kaleb...they're on a boat!

Poor baby tried really hard to move the lever so that her dragon would go up high in the sky. She spent most of her time cruising down low.

Grandpa and Grandma riding on the carousel with Audrey.

Madison enjoyed watching all the action from her car seat.

You can't leave the Boardwalk before eating some yummy Dippin' Dots!

We also took a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for a day.
Kaleb and Audrey screaming as the water rushes down the glass.

...Mommy and her girls.
