ski day

The same day that we went to China Peak to celebrate Aaron's birthday, we happened to run into some very dear friends of ours, the Smittcamps. They were there with family, enjoying a full day of skiing. Even their daughter, Aubrey Rose(Audrey is only 4 months older than Aubrey), was skiing that day...for the first time! It was so fun watching Aubrey fly down the bunny hill! She was awesome!! And even though Aaron and I had talked about possibly getting Audrey on skis that day, we had no idea that she would actually be given that opportunity...

After we watched Aubrey tear it up on her skis, Audrey was really wanting to try it herself. Aubrey Rose was so kind to take her skis off and give Audrey a turn. How sweet is that? I love this picture of two amazing daddys with their adorable little girls.

Here she comes! She was absolutely fearless...the faster the better!!

After a couple times of going down the bunny hill while holding onto a ski pole, Aaron felt like Audrey was ready to try it on her own. So, with Aaron running by her side, Audrey went down the bunny hill all by herself. She LOVED it!!! Needless to say, she did not want to return the skis back to Aubrey Rose. Thank you, Smittcamps, for your selfless generosity and for a memorable day with wonderful friends. We love you all so much!!

Audrey was exhausted and fell asleep almost immediately after we left the parking lot. Just before she fell asleep we were talking about how much fun we had had that day. Audrey told us that she wanted to ski again really soon. She also mentioned that she would like us to get her some princess skis. Aaron seems to think that paint and a few stickers will do the trick. : )
