Clovis Rodeo Parade

Last Saturday morning we put our bikes in the back of the truck, packed our chairs, sunscreen, and water, and headed to the Clovis Rodeo Parade. We stopped at a doughnut store on the way and then parked in the In-N-Out parking lot on Clovis and Herndon. From there, we took our bikes out of the back of the truck and began our ride into Old Town Clovis. We found the perfect spot to set up our chairs, in the shade, and then waited patiently for the parade to begin.
Audrey sitting in her own chair, legs crossed, sippy cup close by, munching on a snack, enjoying the parade.

Audrey spent some time watching the parade from Daddy's shoulders...the best seat in the house.

She was a little unsure about the gunshots that got the parade started.

Big Hat Days

Big Hat Days is always an enjoyable event, especially when the weather is as nice as it was this year. We walked up and down the street, checking out all of the unique crafts that were being sold. Every once in awhile Aaron and I would come to a booth selling something very odd, look at each other and question, really? There is definitely something for everyone there...seriously!

Audrey all ready for Big Hat Days...the shades were a must! : )

The one ride that we allowed Audrey to go on was the "horseys". It was a little dinky and there wasn't any type of strap or buckle to keep Audrey on the horse, but she really liked it.

Notice the grip that Aaron has on Audrey's belt loop.

One of the best parts about Big Hat Days is the food. Audrey ate her entire corn dog, "dip" (ketchup) and all. On the way out, we grabbed a purple snow cone. It had to be purple, because as Audrey tells us all the time, "Purple my tolor(color)!"

That afternoon, Audrey had a hard time going down for a nap, so Daddy said that he would "yay" (lay) with her. When I went in to check on the two of them, this is what I saw. Both of them, OUT!!

Happy Easter!

We had quite a busy Easter this year, but it was so much fun watching the holiday come alive through Audrey's eyes. On Easter morning, Audrey woke us up and had no idea why there was a basket full of treats waiting for her in the living room. I don't think we prepared her enough for the Easter bunny, probably on purpose. We really wanted her to know the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. We kept it simple, Jesus has risen!! Anyways, after going through the treats in her Easter basket, she searched the room for plastic Easter eggs that were filled with one of her favorite treats, "ohhs". It's a great filler for the morning Easter egg hunts, we moved on to candy later on in the day. After finding all of her eggs and eating a quick breakfast on her bunny plate, it was time to get ready for church. I love dressing up our little girl in her Easter dress each year, with her bow and sandals to match. She just looks so stinkin' cute!! We made our way to the 9:00am service, where Audrey learned about Jesus and how he died on the cross then rose again. She was happy to show us her picture of Jesus, colored purple. We went to Nani and Papa's house for some family time, delicious food, and, of course, some egg hunting. Then after a quick nap, we drove to Grandma and Grandpa Love's home for more of the same. Very busy, but very fun!!

Shaking the egg and wondering what's inside.

Check out Audrey's new shades.

All dressed up and ready for church.

Happy Easter from the Loves!

Mani Pedi

I can remember when Audrey was born and we heard the doctor say that we were parents of a baby girl. Within hours after that moment, I thought about all the different things that I would be able to do with my daughter one day, and one of those things was being able to take her to a nail salon for a manicure and pedicure. Just before Easter, Audrey was treated to her very first manicure and pedicure!! It was such a big deal for her to be able to go with Nani, Aunty, and Mommy to get her nails and toenails painted.

Sitting in the "big chair" and ready for her turn.
Together, we sat in the "big chair" to soak our "feetsies". I rolled up Audrey's pants and she stuck both feet in the warm water, right next to Mommy's.
When Lee (the wonderful woman who has been doing my nails and toes forever) came over to begin our pedicures, Audrey showed her the pretty pink color she wanted and then sat up on my lap. She watched every little thing that Lee did and was great about sitting still, especially when it came time to keep her hands fanned out so that her nails would dry.

It was a special time for Mommy and Audrey. Everywhere we went, Audrey was showing off her pretty pink nails and toes.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

This was the first year that we dyed Easter eggs with Audrey. She actually got to dye Easter eggs twice!! Once with her cousins, Kaleb and Abby, and then at home with Mommy and Daddy. The Wednesday before Easter, we went to Nani and Papa's house for dinner. After dinner, we cleaned up and prepared the table for some Easter egg dyeing. I was a little stressed out that Audrey would try to drink from the cups, eat the eggs, or spill the dye all over her. Well, she did not try to drink from the cups of dye or eat the eggs, but she did spill the cup of blue dye all over herself. Poor baby! We scrambled to get her clothes off of her and into the wash, and then we quickly started to scrub the blue dye from her skin. The bright blue might have faded a little bit, but it didn't completely disappear from Audrey's legs and booty until about three days later. Oh, the memories!! The second time around, with Mommy and Daddy, Audrey was a pro and knew exactly what to do to get the job done.

Kaleb and Audrey can't wait to dye Easter eggs!

Abby is not thrilled about having to play with a plastic Easter egg!!

Audrey trying real hard to dye her first egg pink.

Starting to enjoy the activity a little more.

Ready to dye her first egg with Daddy...and look how excited Daddy is. : )

Loving it!!

Still, very focused though.

Final results...beautiful!!!

Look how proud Audrey is of her hard work!!
