pismo camping

For the past four years, we have taken our travel trailer over to Pismo Beach to camp with four other families, the Derksens, Esajians, Sundgrens, and Watts. That's 10 adults and 13 children (6 years old and younger). It is always a little crazy, but so much fun!!
This year we were able to go to one of our favorite beaches, Avila Beach, three different times. The girls absolutely enjoyed every minute that we were there! At the end of the day, both girls would be covered in sand from head to toe.

Audrey and one of her besties, Taryn, checking out the waves together.
Madison loved feeling the cold water and soft sand on her toes.
She also loved eating the sand! Seriously, she would scoop up handfuls of sand and shove it into her mouth. Yuck!!

Audrey learned how to boogie board on this trip and thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Madison took a turn too.

Every time Madison got close to the water, she would take off crawling into the ocean. No fear.

She also liked crawling around with her little friend Maci. The two girls are almost three months apart. Precious.

And of course, you can't go to Avila Beach and not have one of their yummy snow cones before heading home.

We spent a lot of time at the beach, but we also were busy just hanging out around our campsite. And, just across the street from our campsite was a huge playground and a pond full of ducks. The big kids had a great time feeding the ducks... ...while Madison was a little confused and thought the bread was for her to eat.

the dunes were a favorite for sure

We also took a trip to Pismo for lunch, some frozen yogurt, and a walk out on the pier.

Avila also has a wonderful farm where you can take a hay ride, pick your own fruit to buy, and hand feed a few animals.

Audrey was brave and smiled at all the animals...

...Madison wanted nothing to do with them!!

In the evenings, we sat around the campfire in our jammies and ate smores.

We also had a special dessert one night when the Sundgren family made homemade ice cream and toppings to go with.

And one of my favorite activities by far...DANCE PARTY!!!!

friends forever
